Soft Starters

Where variable speed is not required, electronic soft starters still provide benefits compared to star/delta and other contactor solutions.

Power Options

VLT® Frequency converters have built in protection to minimise side effects. This protects the mains supply, allows for long motor cables and saves costs.

VLT® Highpower Drives

VLT® performance goes up to 1.4 MV

You will find all the same qualities in the VLT® high power range that you have experienced since Danfoss put the first mass-produced drives on the market in 1968.

VLT® Soft Starter MCD 500

Danfoss’ new VLT® Soft Starter MCD 500 is a complete motor starting solution with advanced start, stop and protection features, Adaptive Acceleration Control (AAC), built-in delta connections, a four-line graphical display and multiple programming setup menus.

The VLT® MCD 500 is an advanced intelligent motor starting solution that constantly monitors the behaviour of its load to adjust and refine its dynamic performance.

The AAC principle automatically selects and adjusts the best starting and stopping profile for the application. It measures motor current and provides feedback for constant improvement of the motor ramp profiles.

The MCD 500 covers the range 21 – 1600 A. (7.5 – 800 kW), and offers versions for the whole voltage range 200 – 690 VAC.  The power range can be extended to 1.4 MW when using the inside delta connection.
